Why You Can’t Learn Face Recognition Yourself

You might be saying to yourself, “I understand why it’s so important to learn face recognition now.” You might even think, “Hmmm… I can grab a pen and notebook and start doing it on my own. I don’t need these books.”

Surely, you can do it on your own. But what we are wondering is what part of you is telling you to do it on your own? Is it the “I don’t need anyone to help me” part?

Are you often in situations where you have to do everything yourself? If so, it’s understandable that you would see the same need here and then take on another project.

Benefit From Our Years of Experience

But for face recognition, consider benefitting from Dr. Donna’s 20 years of work on the topic. She closely examined over a quarter of a million faces in this pursuit. She created a way for everyone to learn face recognition while having fun. And she doesn’t make it so technical that it’s impossible to learn. It’s NOTHING like being in a plastic surgeon’s office hearing a doctor throw out terms that are overwhelming.

In the 1980s, Dr. Donna took a half semester’s set of class notes for graduate science students and turned it into a 3 to 6-hour class. She presented the information in her proprietary method so the students could learn effortlessly and without stress. She taught dozens of classes, and thousands of students over a period of 20 years.

Years later, she created a complete memory system for flawless identification of the face with just a glance. All this experience comes together in this training in these books.

So if you have a similar background, go for it. Learn it on your own.

You Would Still Be Missing Out

But you still won’t have the universal language for the face that everyone else will have. You still won’t be able to describe a face in a way where others can immediately know what you are imagining in your mind. This leaves you open to inaccurate sketches of a forensic artist if you are using your face recognition skills for the identification of a suspect.

It means you won’t have the training for how to gracefully explain to someone how beautiful their eyebrows are. You run the risk of hurting their feelings and even losing their friendship. And you won’t be able to throw your own super fun Eyebrow Hunt Party without avoiding the mistakes that would make you look foolish.

We do hope you will consider NOT going down the lonely path of learning face recognition on your own. There are others around you waiting to have fun WITH you in the process.
